Carlisle Carrothers & Clough: a History of Excellence
Serving St. Lawrence County - Jefferson County - Franklin County
In 1961, attorney Preston C. Carlisle established his law firm at the historic Preston King Building in Ogdensburg, New York. The Preston King Building was built in 1800 and named after the United States senator, Preston King, who lived there during his senate term. Preston King was a relative of attorney Preston C. Carlisle, and a member of the Carlisle family has owned the building continuously since the mid-1800s.
While continuing to practice law at his firm, in 1967, Preston Carlisle became the first assistant district attorney of St. Lawrence County, remaining in that position until 1975. In 1975, Preston Carlisle left his work with the district attorney's office to work full-time in the general practice of law.
Since that time, the law firm of Carlisle Carrothers & Clough, with the addition of partners Alice J. Carrothers and Molly E. Clough, and associate Rebecca A. Simser has come to be recognized as one of the most prominent law firms in St. Lawrence County.
Our law firm concentrates on personal injury law, car accidents, slip and fall accidents, medical malpractice, personal bankruptcy, real estate law, workers' compensation, Social Security disability and defense of misdemeanor criminal charges including DWIs and speeding tickets.
All three of our law firm's partners are members of the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America). We have always been guided by principles of integrity and hard work. We work tirelessly to uphold the legacy of zealous client representation in the courtroom; personal service and careful attention to our clients' needs are at the core of what we do and the primary reason we have been successful in satisfying our clients over the years.
